Who can make the sunshine...

Quick one today: Brad Armstrong is returning. To ECW.

If they don't return to the Candyman gimmick where he gives out candy canes to kids in the audience, then I don't know what to tell you.

Cryme Tyme Wrestling, Monday Nights on USA

This Monday on WWE.com, we were greeted by the following:

Monday night on RAW, Cryme Tyme was introduced to the RAW audience. In an effort to humor and entertain our fans, the tag team known as Cryme Tyme will parody racial stereotypes. Shad Gaspard and JTG do outlandish, outrageous “stunts” to ready themselves for tag team action on RAW. This attempt at Saturday Night Live-like humor is bound to entertain audiences of all ethnic derivations.

Why wouldn't you? I mean, professional wrestling has done racial stereotypes so well in the past. Right off the bat, this seems like a GREAT idea, Vince.

I try not to be negative right off the bat, so I want to give this gimmick a chance. I thought the bit where one of them shouts-out to his homeys on the security camera was kind of funny. But overall, I felt like the tone of the vignette just didn't sit right with me. When he beats up the clerk, it's supposed to come off as cartoon-like, "funny" violence. And it's not that such a thing can't work, but it's in the middle of a show where the rest of the violence isn't supposed to be funny. It just leaves the viewer with a weird feeling (that has NOTHING to do with the racial stuff, by the way, which I find to be a pointless discussion).

In general, I don't like the idea of such a "Saturday Night Live"-style skit in the middle of a wrestling show. I don't mind comic characters, but sketch comedy is hard. I mean, the professionals only hit it about 5% of the time. I haven't watched SNL in years because it sucks so bad.

I'm going to give this one a little time before I judge. In short, I have no point.
